Voice chat is ubiquitous on Xbox and Playstation 3, but it really isn't quite as common on PC games.
Some games benefit more than other from voice chat. Solitare is hardly improved. Yet StarCraft or Quake Live is drastically different with voice than without.
What games do you most enjoy with voice?
I personally like any of the tactical FPS games. It makes it feel much more authentic to have a little voice in my ear of my team letting me know the situation ahead.
I like to use voice chat for WoW (World of Warcaft) during arena matches. Last season as Shaman, Lock, Rogue we didn't use voice for the first few weeks or so and we were hanging around 1950 rating. Once we did start using voice we hit 2206 and if it wasn't for the season ending soon after we started using voice, I'm sure we could've hit gladiator.
This season I'm running ele shaman/frost mage/disc priest and we just hit 1928 rating after 2 weeks without using voice. I plan to tell my 2 friends about imvox and hopefully this season we can hit glad with that comp.

I'd have to agree. Voice in WoW really can improve your performance a great deal. Otherwise, its like being in the trenches of a war and needing to text everyone else in your battalion what is happening. It just doesn't work.
I was playing WoW quite a bit for a while, but haven't played much lately. Perhaps I'll dig back into it this weekend.

Trying this out with League of Legends.
Was using vent but it keeps royally messing up on my friends machine. If this is as painless as it looks, might be an easy switch.

Lemme know if you run into any issues. I haven't played LoL yet, but it should work fine overall.

We have used voice in game for years in our small TFC/CS/OtherValveGamesNoOnePlays community. There is nothing like gaming with voice on, it brings gaming to an entire new level. We are in the process of switching to imVOX from years of struggling with Ventrillo and TeamSpeak and I am very optimistic that we are going to be more than satisfied with the switch.
Keep up the good work.

Have you had a chance to compare it against Steam Voice? Steam Voice is admittedly nice because it is integrated, but doesn't offer much in team management or structure.

I assume you mean the voice-chat that is built into games such as CS and TFC etc. That quality is horrible. The quality of imVOX is way superior. The quality of imVOX is also better than the quality of Steam's voice when you activate voice in Steam chat rooms.

Nah steam voice don't suck. I kinda like it better then imVOX but imVOX just has a lot more features i need the only thing steam voice is missing is a lot of admin control. So for now imVOX for the WIN.

There are a lot of co-op games I can think of where voice isn't strictly necessary, but it makes for more fun/social gameplay. I regularly play Borderlands and Vegas 2 via Steam with friends from high school that are now all over the country. We catch up on life, and we shoot things in the head ;o).

We will be using this for clan purposes. There's in-game TS3 in Americas Army 3 but this is great for meetings and recruitment.
Expect us to pay for a whole year in a couple of days.

I haven't tried the newer AA games, but I remember the first one being fairly good. Should give that a shot again. They are still free right?

They are indeed.
In order to get AA3 you have to open account with Steam http://store.steampowered.com/ then use search option for "AA3" and download it. You gotta be logged into Steam to play AA3. Over 300 servers to play on - if you download it, pop in for a visit at our honor servers!
I mostly play Guild wars, and Battlefield 2 with voice chat.

i use this for framing simlatour 2011. i also play apb Reloaded but there in game voice system sucks because hardly anyone has a micprhone in that game and you need one and adverts while useing there in game voice chat. I tell you one thing tho imvox staff this voice system is better then any currently out there.

Bandit188 - thanks for the nice post and kind words. It is pretty complex to implement a good voice system so a lot of game companies fall down on it. They try and use some open source tech to do it that is just not that good. Help us grab some more users and get the word out.
We have some very fun stuff we are working on. More group organization type stuff for gamers. The fact that Imvox is a single network allows us to do some cool stuff. We also have a big surprise that will be out shortly. A little hint - "Imvox on every device"
