We will be taking down the imVOX servers at 1PM EST to update the network and complete this most recent update to imVOX. The new imVOX client is already available on our patch server and will automatically install when you next start imVOX.

Here's a listing of what is in this release:

New Audio Controls
Rewritten Custom Controls for better transparency and Mono compatibility
Various bug fixes
Improved Text chat with line wrap and auto-fit columns
Embedded default background (radioscope)
Background preview now shows current background
Base-Line release for future versions
Refactored code for easier feature development

During this update we have greatly increased security and server stability by separating the Green-Ear network (http://green-ear.com) from imVOX. We have also made our development process more organized and agile by moving to a distributed version control system called Git (http://git-scm.com/) and new project management and issue tracking software called Redmine (http://redmine.org). A great deal of the code for the imVOX servers and client has also been refactored, which makes it easier for us to make rapid changes in the future and incorporate the features you need.

Some of the changes that we had hoped for didn't make the cut on this update. They have been pushed to a future update and we still intend to do them. Unfortunately, no major changes have been made to the Mac client yet.

The changes that we've pushed to a future update are:

Codec Selection (PCMU: More Bandwidth, low CPU or ISAC: Less Bandwidth, More CPU)
Microphone Volume Test
Better moving of users between channels
Client Updates in Real-Time when Channel Structure is changed
Microphone Boost (in there, but more enhancement needed)
Patch release notes display
Voice Font dialog enhancement
Digitally signature on the client executable and assemblies
Digitally signature on the setup executable
New setup/installer
New form handling on the Mac
Test build opt-in

The good news is that we're very close to having most of those done, but they simply weren't fully stable for this build. We have also heard you loud and clear on what still is needed from the community (http://imvox.com/forum/showthread.php?t=289) to make this truly useful and competitive.
